S-OneLP has launched a 3.5-mil metallized stand-up pouch web containing 36% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, designed as a direct replacement for conventional 4-mil metallized film structures used in flexible packaging applications.

The Sarasota, Florida-based supplier said the new film leverages advanced chemical recycling technology to address common performance challenges associated with PCR materials, including gel formation, surface inconsistency, and curl control issues.

According to S-OneLP, the 3.5-mil Metallized PCR 36% Stand-Up Pouch Web completed successful trials across seven North American sites and demonstrated consistent performance on HP Indigo 20K, 25K, and 200K digital presses. The company reports the material ran without modification to standard press settings, positioning it as a “drop-in” solution for converters seeking to incorporate recycled content without altering existing workflows.

“Our product development team has worked intensively on our PCR film, which resulted in successful trials across seven sites in North America,” states Andrew Kalina, director of sales at S-OneLP. “The result is a smooth laminate surface, superior curl control, and reliable performance.”

The film is engineered for thermal lamination and upscale stand-up pouch applications, offering premium barrier properties intended to preserve product quality while maintaining shelf appeal. S-OneLP states that the structure delivers virgin-quality resin performance, supporting smooth print surfaces and dependable runnability.

For converters and brands, the material is positioned as a way to increase recycled content while maintaining press efficiency and production consistency. By eliminating the need for process adjustments, the company aims to lower the operational barriers often associated with transitioning to PCR-based flexible packaging films.

S-OneLP specializes in primers, coatings, laminating films, and finishing solutions for digital printing platforms, including HP Indigo presses, and continues to expand its materials portfolio to address sustainability-driven market demands.
